PRE RACE REPORT - ROUND 6

DETROIT - EAST

MUC-OFF / FXR / CLUBMX

We used our mulligans! You may not be an avid golfer, but the term mulligan simply means “do over”.

That is exactly what Detroit will be for us. The first round of the Eastern Regional division in Tampa did

not go according to plan, but that is not to say it was not worth it. Along the path of adversity, there is

knowledge to be gained, lessons to be learned and growth to be had. Tampa had its fair share of speed

bumps, but in true ClubMX fashion, the team rallied together to make improvements as we head into

Detroit. It will be cold and snowy this weekend, but the playing field will be level for everyone. It will just

be a matter of who adapts the best. For the viewer at home, this weekend is just another exciting, well-

attended race. For the teams, it is a bit unusual because there is no pit party, and the big teams have to

work out of their transporters in the sub-freezing temperatures. It will be interesting to say the least.

MAX VOHLAND #92: Max started off great in Tampa, being

third fastest in opening practice. He later was a very

respectable eighth place overall in qualifying. For being a

“stacked” field, Max represented himself very well as a top

competitor. In the main event, he was first to the first corner

and positioned himself for a good steady race and a top five

finish when he encountered an issue. It was unfortunate,

but he took it all in stride like the professional that he is and

moved onto this weekend in Detroit. Certainly, Max’s first-

time racing in a very long time off came with some

“butterflies” but you could not really tell. He methodically

worked his way through the day and had a ton of confidence going into the main event. All that said to

say he will be ready to perform in Detroit. Keep an eye on the #92 as he plans to be up front!

MARK FINEIS #62: Mark did not have the night he was

hoping for in Tampa. In first practice he clipped a tough

block and twisted his ankle to the point where he thought

it was broken. He tried valiantly to work his way through

the evening program, but the pain was unmanageable. His

riding in the LCQ was not indicative of his ability and

consequently the results were not there at the end of the

night. Mark has spent the week getting prepared for

Detroit to show what he can really do. The expectations are

high and now it is just a matter of the pieces falling into

place. Mark has the desire and determination to perform at

the highest level – Detroit will show that he is a force to be reckoned with.

We have continued the production of our popular video series. Please share it as it shows some very cool

“behind the scenes” things that most people never see. This one shows the ups and downs of Glendale.
